I've got plans to travel to two different parts of England, to carry out some detecting in September. Why do farmers have to sow crops, and I have to wait? Only joking!

Metal Detecting On The Beach

I've now got my permit from the Crown Estate, to metal detect on some of their 'beaches'.

Metal Detecting Rally

There is a metal detecting rally, I could go to this weekend. Rallies aren't my kind of thing. I won't be going.

It appears to be a King Richard 1 or King John cut-halfpenny of the Canterbury mint.

I went metal detecting last week!

Roman Coin

A Roman coin I found last year, was given to my local Finds Liaison Officer this month; it will be identified and recorded. The coin is not worth much financially, but can help us learn more about Roman Britain.

The last time I was out metal detecting was in Suffolk. There's a rally coming up in Cheshire soon, and I'll probably go to that.
